My name is Vickie and I love to knit and I love Lambspride yarn. I learned to knit in grade school. I remember Aunt Vada teaching me to knit socks with these tiny sock needles, going around and around. I also remember knitting a “dickie”...you know..a fake turtle neck collar. Over the years I have knitted cotton dish cloths which everyone loves. That was about the extent of my knitting, never dreaming where I would be today. I have always felt my purpose on this earth, as the youngest of three girls, was to care for my Mom, who was widowed at age 57. In 2004 Momma passed away at the age of 87 after living with my husband and I for 11 years. My best friend was in heaven and I did not know what to do or what the Lord had planned for me. Three months later I met a new friend in our church choir who had knitted a beautiful felted purse...she said I could do it and she would help. That was the beginning. I knitted all that first summer and it was total therapy for me. It gave me a purpose to get up and get out. The thrill of yarn shopping took over. Then another friend came into my life with a magazine and a picture....inspiration. I began to knit, teaching myself to slip- stitch a mosaic pattern into my purses...Voila!!!! Everyone loved them and I sent 5 pieces to the Kentucky Craft Marketing Program to go thru the jury process, and then I waited patiently. I put my trust in where the Lord would lead me and He has opened doors and given me a skill that I never imagined.. To Him be the Glory.
